Earth Sciences

Program Overview


Earth Sciences is an interdisciplinary look at the earth from the viewpoints of the disciplines of geography, physical oceanography, geology, archeology, chemistry, and physics with field and lab work as components. The major objectives of the program of study are to apply scientific knowledge to an ever-increasing understanding of the earth and earth systems and to prepare students for several possible upper division majors dealing with environmental concerns and/or geographical and geological processes.

The Earth Sciences program is part of the Astronomy/Physics/Engineering/Geology department.
