Library and Learning Resource Center, Room 121, ext 4245

The Campus-Wide Tutoring Program (CWT), housed in the College Skills Center (CSC), Room LLRC-121, offers free peer tutoring to all Contra Costa College students. Peer tutors in English (reading and writing), math, and other courses are available throughout the day, during regular CSC hours. Tutors are available on a walk-in (first come, first served) basis.

You may also contact tutors via email at When you submit a question, please include your full name, your student ID number, and the name and section of the class you are taking (e.g., MATH118-1130). Questions will be forwarded to an appropriate tutor, and you will receive a response within one business day.

In addition to the Campus-Wide Tutoring Program, Contra Costa College offers a number of tutoring services at various locations around campus.

Computer Center (CTC): The centers are equipped with IBM compatible and Mac computers. Students from many departments use the center to do lab work for their computer science classes.

Early Childhood (ECHD) Tutoring: Students enrolled in ECHD classes can receive tutoring in LA-26.

ESLTutoring (College Skills Center): Drop-in and regular tutoring are available to help students build the skills needed for success. Other services include college success workshops, short-term classes, and computer-assisted instruction in study skills, reading and writing.  Students who are enrolled in one or more ESL classes should register for ESL107.

Math Lab (H2): Drop-in tutoring for all math courses is available. An instructor and student tutors are there to help with math problems. Lab time is required for some math courses.

Media Center: The Media Center’s collection contains films, video tapes, foreign language tapes, slide programs and videodiscs. All materials may be viewed by students in the Media Lab for use in their own research or to make up for a missed viewing in the classroom. Equipment is available for general listening and viewing or other course projects.
