FOR ADULT STUDENTS
Adult Learners --- Welcome to Contra Costa College!
CCC offers exceptional educational opportunities to adult students. If you plan to pursue your degree or transfer goals, expand or update your job skills, or enjoy personal growth and enrichment, CCC has the right program for you.
Adult learners can enroll in our PACE program
that provides students the opportunity to prepare for transfer as a Liberal Arts major in 5 terms.
CCC offers online and telecourses
to provide adult learners with the flexible class schedule that they need to work and fulfill their family responsibilities while learning. CCC courses are offered in the evening, on the weekend, and both on and off campus courses for easy access.
About 35% of students enrolled at CCC are adult learners between the age of 24 - 49 years. About 12% of students are over 50 years old. Many of our graduates are adult learners with children or grand children. They successfully balance family and work responsibilities while going to college.
The college has programs and courses to provide adults a selection of educational opportunities to choose from on their path to professional, career/technical, transfer, or personal educational goals.
Adult students should take the college's assessment test to ensure they are properly placed in an English or Math and should meet with a counselor to develop an educational plan for success.
Some adults come to college just to improve their English skills and take our ESL classes.
Other adult students are life-long learners who take classes both on and off campus that enrich their lives and allow them to follow their personal interests. They may take computer classes, Art or Music Classes, or Health classes.
Whatever your interests, CCC can help you achieve your educational goals.
